Heating is one of the most important aspects of a home and can also be the most expensive when not done efficiently. By simply installing a programmable thermostat and creating a pre-set schedule on your thermostat when you are asleep or away from home may lower your electric consumption without sacrificing comfort. Using a programmable thermostat, you can adjust the times you turn on the heating or air-conditioning according to your pre-set schedule. Many programmable thermostats can store and repeat multiple daily settings (four or more temperature settings a day) that you can manually override without affecting the rest of the daily or weekly program. The Residential Programmable Line-Voltage Thermostat Rebate Program is available for use with resistance heat such as baseboard, fan-forced wall heaters or ceiling radiant heat.
