If you need assistance paying your utility bills, contact the agencies listed below to see if you qualify for assistance.

Wahkiakum PUD partners with Wahkiakum County Human Services to screen applicant eligibility for the Wahkiakum PUD Residential Energy Assistant Program (REAP). Applicants must be active electric or water residential account holders of the District. Applicants may not receive assistance for vacated or second homes.  Applicants are not required to be in disconnect status to be eligible.  Applicants may receive assistance once per calendar year for one residential account and one monthly billing cycle.  Applicants must qualify based on household income guidelines.

Wahkiakum Community Outreach serves all of Wahkiakum County and administers Wahkiakum PUD’s Residential Energy Assistance Program and the Senior or Disabled Discount Program as well as other sources of utility assistance, housing/rental assistance, emergency housing, food/ clothing assistance and more.

Wahkiakum PUD partners with Wahkiakum County Human Services to qualify applicants for the Wahkiakum PUD Senior or Disabled Discount Program. Applicants must be an active electric residential account holder of the District. Applicants may not receive a discount for vacated or second homes.  Applicants may apply any time throughout the year and must renew annually. Applicant must qualify based on household income guidelines and be either 62 years of age or older or a disabled citizen that meets District criteria. Eligible discounts apply to residential electric consumption.

LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program) is a federally funded program that assists low-income households in making home heating more affordable, avoid shutoff of utility services during the winter months, and maintain a warm, safe, and healthy environment for their families. Clients must meet income eligibility guidelines to qualify. Applications begin in the fall (usually October 1st of each year, depending on funding availability). 

 

CAP may offer additional services such as Home Energy Assessments, housing, senior services, Meals on Wheels and more.

Wahkiakum Post 5297 of the VFW may be able to assist with resources such as emergency financial assistance and food assistance.

Local assistance may be available for a family member caring for a relative’s child(ren) in Wahkiakum County. Assistance may include rent, utility, bedding, furniture, clothing, school supplies, instrument rentals, gas and bus vouchers, car repairs, tutoring, food, and interpreter services.

If you are making a payment for service that has been disconnected, you will need to contact Wahkiakum PUD at 360-795-3266 or 360-465-2171 during normal business hours to have service reconnected.
