Wahkiakum PUD is helping its customers reduce their monthly electric bills and make their homes and businesses more comfortable through our weatherization program. According to ENERGY STAR, sealing and insulating the “envelope” or “shell” of your home — its outer walls, ceiling, windows, doors, and floors — is often the most cost effective way to improve energy efficiency and comfort. Under the Residential and Non-Residential Windows Rebate Program, Wahkiakum PUD may be able to pay a portion of the cost to replace the windows in your residence or business.

REBATES AND PRE-QUALIFICATION

Pre-qualification from Wahkiakum PUD is required to be eligible for all utility rebate programs. View our Residential Windows Pre-qualification Application (effective 10.2019) or Non-Residential Windows Pre-qualification Application (effective 10.2019) for step-by-step program guidelines and current rebate rates.

Before installing any residential weatherization measure customers must refer to BPA Weatherization Specifications for a full description of qualifying residential requirements or view BPA’s Weatherization Best Practices Field Guide which contains the qualifying residential requirements but also provides step-by-step instructions for common practices. Utility weatherization program requirements are included and highlighted in blue text. By reading this document, you will learn how to insulate, perform air sealing, and replace windows on a home for the following weatherization measures:

  • Ceiling, wall, and floor insulation
  • Air sealing
  • Window replacement
  • Duct insulation
  • Prescriptive duct sealing.

Customer may opt to self-install windows or select a contractor licensed, insured and bonded to work in Washington State; visit WA State Department of Labor & Industries or contact Wahkiakum PUD to confirm contractor eligibility. Contact Wahkiakum PUD for more information.
