Energy Star Insulation House with side view of three story house and locations where insulation may be located on each floor and location of common air leaks.Wahkiakum PUD is helping its customers reduce their monthly electric bills and make their homes and commercial businesses more comfortable through our weatherization program. According to ENERGY STAR, sealing and insulating the “envelope” or “shell” of your building— its outer walls, ceiling, windows, doors, and floors — is often the most cost effective way to improve energy efficiency and comfort.

Under its Weatherization Program Wahkiakum PUD may be able to pay a portion of the cost to insulate your electrically-heated residence or commercial business. Qualifying residential homes include single, multifamily and manufactured (1984 or newer) homes with electric heat as its primary heat source. Qualifying commercial spaces include commercial businesses with permanently-installed electric heat as its primary heat source. Incentive rates vary based on building type, heat source and levels of insulation.

Pre-qualification from Wahkiakum PUD is required to be eligible for all utility rebate programs. Before installing any residential weatherization measure, customers must review BPA Weatherization Specifications for a full description of qualifying requirements.

View our Residential Insulation Pre-qualification Application (11.2018) or Non-Residential Insulation Pre-qualification Application (11.2018) for step-by-step program guidelines and current rebate rates. Installation contractor must be licensed, insured and bonded to work in Washington State (self-install does not qualify for rebate); visit WA State Department of Labor & Industries or contact Wahkiakum PUD to confirm contractor eligibility.  Contact Wahkiakum PUD for more information.
